When Al was a little kid, he wanted to be… “A fire engine – the whole engine.  Then I found out I couldn’t actually be a fire engine, so I wanted to drive trains, then be a motocross racer, then be a fighter pilot.”

Al decided to become a techie because…“The Air Force encouraged me to get my computer science degree, and though I did so, I couldn’t enter flight school since I was past the entry age.  So, I went to work for General Dynamics on weapon systems.  I really got into artificial intelligence because it was an extreme discipline.  My dream was to create an android.”
